Later care
referral program
Abortion is an essential form of healthcare. This is true both within and beyond the first trimester of pregnancy. Our Abortion Access team is here to help.
All abortion care is healthcare
Often, conversations around abortion access in Canada focus more on care which is offered in the first 13 weeks, and how commonly people access services in that window. However, less common doesn’t mean less important. No one should experience stigma, shame, or extensive barriers while trying to exercise their bodily autonomy and reproductive rights.
Accessing care later in pregnancy can be incredibly complicated and involve extensive travel, time, and financial resources. Navigating the healthcare system and where you can even receive care can be overwhelming and confusing. Often information available online about care later in pregnancy is incorrect, or unavailable.
Our later care referral program
At Abortion Care Canada, we specialize in supporting complex abortion access, including accessing care later in pregnancy. Our team can help identify where care can be offered, navigate the healthcare system with clients, plan travel, and provide social/emotional support.
We are proud to officially launch our Later Care Referral Program, with a focus on clients who are 18+ weeks of gestation, as part of our overall Abortion Access Program. We accept self-referrals, as well as referrals from clinicians/clinics. If you or a client need support, reach out to us at support@abortioncarecanada.ca
We are committed to improving and simplifying access to, and the provision of care at all gestations and are
excited to share additional work related to this area in the future.
